So as Max is running "super fast" throughout the entire house testing out his new shoes, Molly comments to him in her sweetest big sister voice, "Wow, Max, you're faster than a hippogriff on a treadmill. You're faster than Hedwig flying in a blizzard. You're faster than Hermoine answering how many slugs do you need to put in a shrinking solution!"
All things Harry Potter around here these days. All the time. :)

Toddler-isms
Molly used to say the funniest things as a toddler, and I'm so glad I took the time to keep a running list. Guess it's Max and Violet's turn now. Will eventually make a list on the side...but for now, we'll just start a few here. Some might be funny. Some just things I want to remember.
Violet:
*I don't need a coat, Mommy. I'm a mermaid.
*Violet, what did you dream about? Smooooky ghosts eating pumpkin bread.
*Mom, I'm not a baby anymore. I have curly hair now.
Max:
*I'm not hungry, Mom. I already had pretend dinner upstairs.
*Mom, do you know what my last name is? WooWoo. I'm Maxy WooWoo.

Sledding Fun at Donut Falls
What better to do over a long weekend than head up the canyon for some serious sledding fun!
In fact, the kids all had so much fun, we hit the store for more sleds and did it all over again on Daddy and Molly's day off.
Molly was pretty pumped when she got her penguin sled for her birthday, but she was even more excited at the prospect of getting the sled she'd really been eyeballing...and deemed the "Nimbus 2000" of sleds. So of course, as all modes of transportation in the Blair family seem to get a name, now the twins are even calling Molly's new and improved sled her "Nimbus 2000."
Max was more than thrilled to inherit Molly's penguin sled, while Violet calls the polar bear her "koala bear" sled. And don't even think about using the wrong sled with the wrong kid. If Jeremy and I switch which twin we're riding down with, you'd better bet we have to switch sleds too!
I think Molly and Violet were born to sled! Violet wants to ride down with Molly every single time, and they both shout "Woooooo-hooooooooo!" the whole way down. Max, on the other hand, is a little more timid. He prefers to ride with either Mommy or Daddy...and always with his face covered! Not because he's scared, per se. More because of the sheer amount of snow you get in your face on the way down a really good run!
But after an hour or so (and on a run with far fewer bumps), we finally got Max to take some runs on his own. And once we got Max and Violet racing together, there was no stopping them!
We'd hit the hills first thing in the morning (knowing it would get busy as the day went on for the holiday), and around noon as the crowds showed up, we decided to just take a little hike up the snow-covered trail. And even build a snowman along the way. :)
All in all, this crew sure had a blast. Can't wait to do it again!

Back in Action
Soooo, as most friends and family know, quite a bit has happened in the lives of the Three Blairs clan over the past six months.
Quick summary:
We had a fun summer.
Daddy got a new job.
We sold our house in two days.
Lots of packing commenced.
Daddy moved to UT.
The kids and I stayed in TX to tie up some loose ends.
Even more packing.
Molly started 3rd grade.
We bought a house online. It's purple.
Did I mention packing? And that Nana is a rockstar?
We moved out of our house and lived with grandparents for a week.
Molly earned her first degree black belt in Taekwondo.
Daddy flew back to TX, and we all drove up to UT together.
We camped in an empty house for a week.
Moving truck finally arrived, and unpacking commenced.
Max and Violet got their own rooms.
Molly started year-round school.
More unpacking.
Halloween...took a break from unpacking to sew some costumes.
Molly's on break from school.
Mac came to visit.
Pulled an all-nighter and drove straight from UT to TX for Thanksgiving.
Molly's birthday party with family.
Drove back to UT with Grandpa in the driver's seat.
Christmas.
Snow.
New Years.
Molly finally went back to school.
Started potty training the twins.
Jeremy and I celebrated our 15 year anniversary...with the kids in tow.
Phew. Okay, so maybe that wasn't so quick, but that at least gives me bullet points of all the major things we've been up to. And here's to hoping we can get some posts about each one sooner than later! Cause let's be honest, I still feel a little bit like this...

Skittles
I knew this would be discovered eventually...
They may have figured out how to reach, but at least they haven't figured out how to get the pennies in yet!

Max's Word of the Week
If Max had to pick a favorite word right now, I think it would be "really." He's discovered this little adverb and now uses it ALL the time...and it's often quite amusing to those of us here at home- From when he's covering his face with both hands and wailing, "Max really sad!" to when he all of a sudden switches gears and exclaims, "Max Happy-Max! Max really happy," we all get a good chuckle.
My favorite use of "really" was the other day in the kitchen. Max loves towels. Bath towels, swim towels, kitchen towels, you name it. He was drying his hands in the kitchen the other day and then going through his routine of meticulously spreading the kitchen towel he's selected out as flat as he possibly can onto the kitchen tile (usually so he can then perform his own version of the happy song while dancing on top of the small kitchen towel in the middle of the floor), and he suddenly called out, "Really good towel, Mommy! Max like it. Really good towel." The funny thing was, though, that it happened to be the one towel from the very bottom of the pile (cause Max has been going through the kitchen towels lately, let me tell you!) with dried superglue on the side that's always really scratchy. But glad you liked that "really good towel," buddy!
And his favorite phrase would have to be "almost there." Anytime he's not finished with something--playing with his cars, reading a story, eating his yogurt--Max will tell us "almost there..."

Lunch with Lolly
Last 2nd grade lunch with Molly...
As excited as we are for summer, I know the twins will miss their special outings to have lunch with Molly up at school. Violet loves dancing around the cafeteria in her princess shoes, and the little bench in the front office...can't walk past it with out taking a seat!
We sure love our Lolly!
And little V...she's got a different pair of sunglasses for every occasion. :)

Taste of Summer
Summer is just around the corner, and I'm sure looking forward to more relaxed schedules to fit in special moments like these...

Molly's probably the only kid in school who isn't looking forward to school being over. Happens every year. She loves her teachers, and even before the last day of school, Molly's already stressing about who her teacher will be for the next grade and which friends she may/may not have in her class.
And this year, she was completely put out when she had to turn in all her school library books and couldn't check out any new ones. So of course, that calls for a surprise trip to our favorite library, followed by our favorite snow cones, after school on Friday. New books for Molly, new books for the twins...everybody's happy!
Add in Memorial Day weekend with a trip to visit great-grandpa's grave and then swimming in Papa's awesome new pool...Molly's slowing changing her tune as she remembers all the fun we get to have during the summer. Nine days and counting!

Special Notes
Sometimes the best kind of recognition you can get from school is just a simple, out-of-the-blue email from a teacher. Who needs awards and certificates when you have something as meaningful as this to put in your kiddo's scrapbook...
Hi Emily!
I hope you are doing well and that Max and Violet are enjoying their big kid beds! :)
Hi Emily!
Just wanted to send you a quick email to let you know how much I enjoy and appreciate Molly!! She is such a wonderful student, role model, and she inspires other children in the class to read more. She has such a kind heart, and I just love her so much!
I hope you are doing well and that Max and Violet are enjoying their big kid beds! :)
Especially for a little girl who isn't having her most favorite year at school, this touches her heart and makes her happy. Love my sweet Molly Jane.

Vacuum
We were playing out back yesterday afternoon, and Max told me he needed to vacuum the grass...
Max has been my little helper lately. He loves to sweep the kitchen floor, throw away dirty diapers, and wipe down any surface he can possibly reach with a rag...the kitchen floor, the table, the sides of the cabinets, the couches in the living room (yeah, that one's a big help).
And I'm loving my little sidekick. Max will see me wiping something up from the floor, and he'll bend down with his head below mine and say, "Max do it? Max help." He'll also come grab me when he's spilled some crackers, point to the dirty spot, and say in his sweet toddler voice, "Mommy vacuum." And he's a super champ at helping clean up his sister's messes--which there are a lot of!
I just love this hard-working, sweet little boy of mine...

Name Changes
So I think I've mentioned before that whatever Violet decides to use as a name is whatever Violet will use as a name...and it sticks.
She named the twins' blankets their nannies, she gave Molly the nickname Lolly, she changed Woody from Toy Story to Will, she calls her sweet little lamb Lella...and the list goes on.
Well, Violet's recently made a few adjustments to her names:
She now calls Max Maxy more often than not.
She stopped calling her special stuffed animal puppy and now refers to it as doggy.
She started calling her snack cup snackies.
Those are all fine and dandy, but she's got two name changes in particular that have us scrambling to try and keep our sweet little V from growing up too fast.
She's started calling me Mom instead of Mommy or Mama. I repeat...she calls me MOM! And while I should think it's sweet every time she says, "Thanks, Mom," I can't help but thinking, "Nooooo, you're barely two! You can't start calling me MOM yet!!! You're still just a cute little toddler!"
And the kicker...she's started calling Molly Molly Jane instead of Lolly. It's making Molly crazy!! Molly's grown to love her nickname, and it's so sweet that each time Violet says Molly or Molly Jane instead of Lolly, Molly corrects her with, "No, ViVi, it's LOLLY. Not Molly. LOLLY. Mom, I don't want her to grow up!"
And it's almost like Violet knows it bothers us, and she follows it up with this sneaky little laugh...

Not So Little
So I whipped out the bike buggy the other day so the twins could enjoy a bike ride with Molly and me, and about half way through our ride, as my thighs started to burn, I realized...they're not so little anymore!

Muffin Makers
I'm loving my little helpers in the kitchen...
These two are a total kick to hang out with right now. Seriously, we've been having entirely too much fun together around here lately! And any time I look at this picture, I have the sudden urge to play a good old-fashioned game of I Spy. ;)
